Travel Diary to San Francisco
Alcatraz
My favorite Pizzeria: Una Pizza Napoletana. They only have six pizza's to choose from so I'd recommend trying each pie. My absolute favorite's were Filetti and Bianca. This is a must eat in SF!
Go and get a coffee from here: Four Barrel Coffee
Go rent a bike for a day and drive up HWY 1 to enjoy the coastal landscape
Eagle Rider: bike rental joint
We got a Harley Davidson Heritage Softtall
The beginning of our trip towards Napa but first we made some pit stops.
First stop: Muir Woods to see the magnificent red woods forest.
Second stop was to visit friends at Hog Island Oyster Company right off HWY 1
Jess & Anna (Pauliana)
I wasn't always a fan of West Coast oysters but I was obviously misguided on what to order. Definitely get an order of the BBQ oysters and pair it with a glass of their Riesling. The sweet and salty go well together. We also ordered some of their local cheese and bread plate. If you can't make it to this location they have a few locations in San Francisco.
Some beautiful flower Anna picked off the road.
Third Stop: Napa!
We didn't end up getting to see any winery's because we took a longer scenic route to get there but we did get to eat at Napa's finest: ad hoc. This family style restaurant which started off as a temporary pop up which literally means, "for this purpose," creates a simple idea that's reminiscent of home. ad hoc is opened 5 days a week and offers four courses that change daily. And their wine selection was superb and if you like Pino's I'd recommend the Vivier.
Driving through the Castro before the wedding ceremony!
Wedding Day of Sarah and Daniel at Sutro Heights Park overlooking the Pacific.
Visit Tartine and indulge in all things sweet.
Check out Off the Grid Picnic at the Presido. There are great local food vendors with lush grassy hills. Be sure to stop by this adorable flower truck and get yourself a flower wreath!
At Tartine
Even the Seagulls are happy in SF
Twin Peaks
San Francisco is a beautiful city with so much to see and explore. We didn't get to see everything on our list but here is some more places I didn't list but would recommend seeing:
Burbon & Branch: mixology bar
Brendas Soul Food: Kick ass southern cooking, try the shrimp and grits!
Hayes Valley: Super cool street with tons of wonderful shops and food
Chantal Guillon Macarons shop in Hayes Valley
Lavish: cute gift store on Hayes street
Saturday Market at the Ferry Building
Domo Sushi
Underground Ramen
Front Porch: Breakfast joint in the mission
Fish: great seafood restaurant in Sausalito right on the water
Happy Travels!
